Mallory Park

In the heart of the Leicestershire countryside sits Mallory Park, known as the 'Friendly Circuit' for its more than helpful staff and a cafe that has acquired almost legendary status among trackside catering - it really is that good!  Coupled with the very pretty lakes in the infield and the sloping green, natural ampitheatre you'd could almost think  the 1.3m circuit might be a little on the genteel side.  Once out on the track you soon discover you've been lulled into a false sense of security because Mallory is fast, so much so that a couple of chicanes have had to be added to slow the bikes down.  Although on the short side, and therefore relatively easy to learn, a lap involves some intense action with quick straights, heavy braking and the amazing fast, seemingly endless Gerrards bend. In contrast, Shaws Hairpin is ultra tight and a real skill test.

The paddock is in the centre of the circuit with a limited number of garages - if you want to be guaranteed power a generator is a good idea.  Spectators can get a great view all around the circuit, and access over the track is via a footbridge once the bikes are out.  It may not be as grand as some other circuits but Mallory is guaranteed to make you smile.
